Of Rosses Point’s three beaches, the third beach is by far the quietest the best place to loose yourself in stunning surroundings. With the backdrop of Lisadell, Benbulben and Drumcliff bay, the beach stretches from Rosses Point right into the mouth of the Drumcliff river.
Surrounded on both sides by water, the beach is not lifeguard patrolled. At low tide, you can also walk to the lighthouse , ” a white cabin on 4 wooden pillars”. Care is needed at low tide on the sand flats for fast incoming waters.
Access the beach from the second beach and also from the Lower Rosses road. This is a protected area of natural beauty with bikes, quads and cars prohibited from driving in the dunes.
